Privacy Policy
Effective April 2025 · Daevara, Walnut Creek, CA
1. Introduction
Daevara operates the Daevara Reviews service at reviews.daevara.com — a managed NFC/QR tap-to-review platform that helps local businesses collect more Google reviews. This policy explains what information we collect, from whom, how we use and share it, and the rights available to you.
By using the Daevara Reviews service — as a client or as a tapper — you agree to the practices described here.
2. Who This Policy Covers
This policy covers two types of people who interact with the Daevara Reviews platform:
- Clients — businesses that subscribe to Daevara Reviews to manage their review collection program. Clients have accounts, dashboards, and review cards.
- Tappers — customers of our clients who tap or scan a Daevara review card. Tappers are redirected to a third-party review page (e.g. Google) and do not create an account with Daevara.
3. Information We Collect
From Clients
When a business submits a quote request or signs up for the service, we collect:
- Name and email address of the point of contact
- Business name and phone number
- Google review page URL and other destination URLs provided for your cards
- Team size and notes provided during onboarding
- Dashboard login activity (timestamps, session data)
Billing is processed by a third-party payment processor. Daevara does not store payment card numbers or full billing details on our servers.
From Tappers
When a customer taps or scans a review card, we log the tap event. This log includes:
- The date and time of the tap
- General device type (e.g., iOS or Android)
- Which card endpoint was tapped
We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personally identifiable information from tappers. Tappers are never asked to log in or create an account with Daevara.
Aggregate / Public Statistics
We maintain anonymous aggregate counts — such as total taps across the platform and total number of active endpoints — which may be displayed publicly on the site. These figures contain no information that could identify an individual tapper or a specific client.
4. How We Use Your Information
Client data is used to:
- Set up and operate your account and review cards
- Respond to support requests and quote inquiries
- Send service notifications (e.g., account updates, replacement card alerts)
- Improve the platform and develop new features
Tap event data is used to:
- Provide analytics to the client whose card was tapped (per-card tap counts, trends over time, team leaderboards)
- Maintain platform-wide aggregate statistics
- Detect and prevent abuse of the redirect system
5. How We Share Information
We never sell or share your data for marketing or advertising purposes. Ever. This is a hard rule, not a policy subject to change for business reasons.
The only ways we share data are:
- Tap data → with the associated client. When a card endpoint belonging to a client is tapped, that tap event (timestamp, device type, which card) is visible to that client in their dashboard. Tappers' personal information is not involved because we don't collect it.
- Aggregate data → publicly. Anonymized platform-wide totals (total tap count, total active endpoints) may be displayed on the public homepage.
- As required by law. We may disclose information if required by a valid legal process, court order, or applicable law.
We use a small number of infrastructure providers (hosting, email delivery) to operate the service. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by appropriate data processing terms. They are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
6. Data Storage and Security
All Daevara Reviews data is stored exclusively on servers located in the United States.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we hold — including access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and keeping sensitive credentials out of application code.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
7. Our Stance on Reviews
Daevara Reviews is review-neutral. We do not:
- Pay or reward customers for leaving reviews
- Screen customers to only send happy ones to the review page
- Suppress or filter negative reviews
- Instruct customers on what to write
Our only role is to reduce the friction that stands between a willing customer and the review page. What they write — and whether they write anything at all — is entirely up to them.
This also means we do not violate Google's review policies. We are a convenience tool, not a review manipulation service.
8. Cookies and Tracking
The public marketing site (reviews.daevara.com) does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. The client dashboard uses session cookies to maintain your logged-in state.
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party behavioral tracking tools.
9. Data Retention
Client account data is retained for the duration of the subscription and for a reasonable period after cancellation to allow for reactivation or dispute resolution. Tap event data is retained to support ongoing analytics for the associated client.
If you would like your data deleted, contact us using the information below and we will process the request promptly.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). These may include the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data)
- Non-discrimination for exercising these rights
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We do not require account creation to submit a privacy request.
11. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Active clients will be notified via email. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
